ORCHARD PARK – The first big schedule reveal as been released. On Wednesday the Buffalo Bills shared their 2018 preseason schedule.
This year’s exhibition contests include the matchups with Sean McDermott and Brandon Beane’s former team, the Carolina Panthers at home during the first week of the preseason. The Bills then travel west on I-90 to Cleveland for their second preseason contest, where they’ll meet former quarterback Tyrod Taylor for the first time as a member of the Browns. The exact date for each of those two games has yet to be determined.
In the third game, which is considered the “final dress rehersal” for teams, Buffalo plays host to another AFC North foe in the Cincinnati Bengals on August 26. That game will be broadcast on Fox and has some added intrigue in that it will pin newly signed quarterback A.J. McCarron against his former team. Who says the preseaon doesn’t have drama?
For the first time since 2001, the Bills won’t be playing their fourth and final preseason game against the Detroit Lions. Instead they schedule concludes on August 30, with a road matchup against the Chicago Bears. Don’t worry though, Buffalo will see the Lions in Orchard Park during the regular season.
The regular season schedule should be released in the coming weeks. Other than the Lions, Buffalo will play host to the Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennesee Titans, Los Angeles Chargers, the Bears and each of their AFC East rivals. Their non-division road trips include the Indianapolis Colts, Houston Texans, Minnesota Vikings, Green Bay Packers and Baltimore Ravens.
