2017 was the most memorable Bills' seasons in quite some time as a magical campaign paved way for the franchise's first postseason appearance in 17 years. So with the playoff drought behind them, Sean McDermott and company turn their attention towards sustaining that success.
With their sights set on another postseason berth, getting back into the 12 team field is easier said than done, especially after plenty of roster turnover this offseason. That said, here are five keys that will make it a reality.
1) LeSean McCoy
Not only will LeSean McCoy serve as the Bills feature running back for a fourth straight season, he'll serve as the focal point of their offense. In each of the last three seasons since acquiring McCoy, the Bills have led the league in total rushing yards and rushing yards per game twice, before ranking fifth in both categories this past season. They have McCoy to thank for that, who has eclipsed the 1,000-yard rushing mark each of the last two years. This last season in particular saw a resurgence from the 29-year-old as a pass-catcher as well, which will certainly continue in 2018. If the Bills want to make it two straight postseason trips, it will hinge largely on McCoy's effectiveness.
